The content of the site can be accessed from the menu at the top on the left, with a page about me, and seven Galleries of digital photographs of my work. The categorisation is ambiguous, as some of my paintings do not fit into any category or can fit in many.  There are two buttons on the top right if you wish to e-mail me or leave a comment.

This site is being launched as of April 2024, on what I hope will be an evolutionary journey. This site provides a sample of my work, and my intention is to develop the site based on the feedback and comments it receives.

I have created this website as a platform to encourage the appreciation of all painting, not just my own. A painting is a unique creation, with qualities and characteristics that cannot be found in any other form of communication.

Too often in this digital and social media age paintings are reduced to flat transient images, captured on mobile phones, where the measure is on quantity and rapidity rather than appreciation and consideration. One significant challenge is that a digital image is viewed through light emitting from a screen, which is rather tiringly like staring at a light bulb. Our perception of a painting is created from the reflection of light from a surface, which allows nuances, dimension, transparencies, and textures to be viewed in the context of the subject, as the painter intended.

Because of this and other factors I hope to expand on in the future I have been reticent in building a website. However, though I will always maintain that paintings will only be truly represented ‘in the presence of the eye’, I have taken the plunge and built this website, to be a signpost rather than a destination for paintings.
